Product Details

These magnificent animals roam free in the Rooisand nature reserve, at the mouth of the Botriver, in South Africa. I recently spent 4 months following them around and they have become like a sexond family to me. They are rumoured to be descendants of horses hidden in the vlei when the English were advancing during the Anglo Boer War in the 1890's. They play a very important role in the wetlands by keeping the waterways open ensuring that all the rivers flow freely and there are no stagnant pools. They have uniquely adapted to life in the marshy areas. Their hooves are double the size of 'normal' hooved horses.

Museum Quality Options

Over the last 20 years, archival pigment ink prints have become the medium of choice for professional fine art and photographic reproduction. A 'pigment ink print' (also sometimes called a 'giclée' print) is a fine art digital print made on a professional inkjet printer.

  • Hahnemühle Cézanne Canvas 430gsm
  • This is a heavyweight archival art canvas made of pure cotton. It has a fine surface texture and a 'natural white' surface. Excellent reproduction of colour and detail with deep blacks. It is acid- and lignin-free and is extremely age-resistant. Despite its heaviness, the canvas is elastic and stretches well.
  • Hahnemuhle German Etching 310gsm
  • One of the most popular papers around. Has the look and feel of traditional etching board. This mould-made paper features a distinct textured surface. The base is alpha-cellulose. Certified as archival by Hahnemuhle.

Limited edition 5/15, Signed and cerified. These prints are unmounted and shipped in a sturdy cardboard tube.
